Commonwealth Secretariat Delegation Meets with Jahangirnagar University VC

Commonwealth Secretariat officials met with Jahangirnagar University leaders on Tuesday afternoon. The visitors talked about democratic values and good government practices during their campus visit. Professor Michelle Scobie headed the group from the Commonwealth's Governance and Peace department. University Vice-Chancellor Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan hosted the meeting at his office. The discussion focused on ways both organizations could work together better.

The university leader showed strong interest in building academic partnerships with Commonwealth nations. He thanked the visiting team for coming to the campus and sharing their ideas. Jordan Neal joined Scobie as part of the Commonwealth group that made the trip. Several university professors and students attended the afternoon session. Pro Vice-Chancellor Mohammad Mahfuzur Rahman participated along with philosophy department faculty members.

Earlier that day, the Commonwealth team spoke with philosophy students about scholarship opportunities. The visitors explained how students from different Commonwealth countries could connect and learn from each other. Department officials organized the special morning session to help students understand these programs better. Philosophy department Chairman Munir Hossain Talukder presented gifts to the guests before they left. The presents showed the university's appreciation for the Commonwealth team's visit and educational outreach efforts.
