Cremer, Taylor return as Zim names T20 WC squad

A veteran spinner returns to the fold for Zimbabwe's T20 World Cup squad. Former captain Graeme Cremer, back from a seven-year international break, has been selected in the fifteen member team for the 2026 tournament. The thirty-nine-year-old leg spinner recently returned during a tri-series in Pakistan. Fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani also reclaims his spot after recovering from a back injury, with left-arm seamer Newman Nyamhuri being the sole player dropped from the recent qualifier squad.

The team will be led by Sikandar Raza and features other comebacks, including veteran wicketkeeper batter Brendan Taylor. Clive Madande keeps his place after strong domestic form, having been the top scorer in Zimbabwe's local tournament. The pace attack will be headed by Muzarabani and Richard Ngarava, while the spin department relies on Cremer and Wellington Masakadza.

Zimbabwe is drawn in Group B alongside Australia, Sri Lanka, Ireland, and Oman. Their tournament begins with a match against Oman on February ninth, with all their group stage games to be played in Sri Lanka. The full squad includes Sikandar Raza as captain, with Brian Bennett, Ryan Burl, Graeme Cremer, Brad Evans, Clive Madande, Tinotenda Maposa, Tadiwanashe Marumani, Wellington Masakadza, Tony Munyonga, Tashinga Musekiwa, Blessing Muzarabani, Dion Myers, Richard Ngarava, and Brendan Taylor.
