The Delhi High Court has issued summons to Red Chillies Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. and Netflix, both linked to Shah Rukh Khan, in response to a civil defamation suit filed by IRS officer Sameer Wankhede. Wankhede alleges that the web series The Ba***ds of Bollywood, produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, contains defamatory content that has damaged his reputation and public image. The court issued the summons after finding the allegations warrant judicial review, with the next hearing date set.
The suit, filed on Oct. 8, 2025, also names X Corp, Google LLC, Meta Platforms, RPG Lifestyle Media, and John Doe as defendants. Wankhede claims the series includes biased and objectionable content, referencing ongoing legal proceedings in Mumbai involving him and Aryan Khan. He seeks Rs. 2 crores in damages to be donated to Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital and has requested a permanent injunction against the series. Wankhede further alleges the content violates the Information Technology Act, the Indian Penal Code, and laws regarding national honor.
