Diddy gets 50 months after calling to banish Trump

Music mogul Sean Combs will serve 50 months in federal prison after a judge handed down the sentence on Oct. 3. Combs was convicted in July on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution but was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy charges. President Donald Trump discussed the case in a July 2 interview with Newsmax, describing Combs as sort of half-innocent after the mixed verdict.

Trump noted that Combs made hostile statements about him after his 2016 campaign, which would complicate any pardon consideration. U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian imposed a $500,000 fine and five years of supervised release, in addition to the prison term. Combs apologized tearfully at his sentencing hearing to victims and family members. He will receive credit for 12 months already served in custody.
