Dying Light - The Beast set for August launch with new story and features

Polish game makers at Techland pulled a fast one on fans when they turned their planned zombie DLC into a full game. Hackers broke into their computers back in 2023 and stole the story details. The developers decided to scrap their original plans and create something bigger. They brought back Kyle Crane from the first game to star in this new adventure. The studio calls this project Dying Light 3 without actually naming it that.

Players can grab this zombie thriller on August 22nd for computers and next-gen consoles. The game costs sixty bucks for the basic version or seventy dollars for extra goodies. People who bought the fancy edition of Dying Light 2 at launch will receive this new game for free. Old PlayStation and Xbox users have to wait until later in 2025 to play. Nintendo Switch 2 owners might get lucky if the developers decide to port it over.

Kyle Crane spent thirteen long years locked up as a test subject for zombie experiments. A villain named The Baron kept him prisoner and did horrible things to him. Crane finally breaks free and wants revenge against his captor. The story happens right after the events of Dying Light 2 in a place called Castor Woods. This forest area used to attract tourists before zombies took over everything.

The hero gained some serious monster abilities during his time in captivity. He can crush skulls with his bare hands and tear enemies apart like paper. Four friends can team up to fight through the infected wilderness together.
