Eedris blasts ban as effort to silence truth

Famous rapper Eedris Abdulkareem fired back after government officials banned his latest track about President Tinubu. The National Broadcasting Commission blocked his song "Tell Your Papa" on Thursday, calling it offensive to listeners. Abdulkareem took to Instagram that same evening to blast the decision. He compared this situation to when his protest hit "Jaga Jaga" and faced similar treatment back in 2004. The music star accused Tinubu's team of trying to hide criticism from the public.

Abdulkareem shared the official NBC notice with his followers online. He claimed that speaking the truth always counts as wrongdoing according to Nigerian leaders. He labeled the current president's administration as uncaring toward regular people. He believes broadcast stations received orders to protect the government's reputation instead of reporting facts. The outspoken artist suggested that these censorship practices explain why Nigeria struggles to make progress.
