Fadhlina credits Anwar after Israel frees activists

Malaysia secured the release of all Global Sumud Flotilla volunteers detained by Israeli forces, and Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek credited the diplomatic success to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's leadership. The government demonstrated strong diplomatic capabilities in protecting Malaysians who participated in international humanitarian efforts, and officials will transport the activists from Istanbul to Kuala Lumpur. Fadhlina said authorities plan to continue supporting Gaza residents through future humanitarian initiatives.

Israeli forces detained 23 Malaysian activists on Thursday after intercepting their vessels in the Mediterranean Sea waters before transferring them to Ashdod port. Anwar arranged a special Turkish flight to move all Malaysians from Israel to Istanbul on Sunday. More than 500 activists from 44 countries sailed toward Gaza to demonstrate solidarity, break the Israeli blockade, and deliver humanitarian assistance to Palestinian residents.
