A coordinated police operation thwarted a planned cash-in-transit heist near Bronkhorstspruit on Friday evening, resulting in four suspects killed and a fifth arrested. The incident occurred on November 7 after law enforcement acted on intelligence about the impending robbery.
During the operation, police confronted two separate groups of suspects. A shootout on the R25 road led to three fatalities, while a subsequent engagement in the Welbekend area resulted in a fourth suspect killed and another fleeing. The fifth suspect was later apprehended at a safe house in Dennilton, Limpopo. Authorities recovered three firearms, explosives, and a hijacked Mercedes-Benz.
