Fred Matiangi heads to Nyamira County tomorrow for what many see as the start of his run for president. He has met with leaders privately but hasn't said if he wants the top job in 2027. Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo announced Matiangi will visit several areas starting at 9 a.m. in Nyasiongo before moving through Keroka, Kiumbu, Kisii Roundabout, and Ikonge Market. Nyaribo called him a peace-loving person who needs hometown support before making any national moves.

On Tuesday, he joined ex-Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and other opposition leaders for talks about the next election. Kalonzo Musyoka, Martha Karua, Eugene Wamalwa, and former cabinet members also joined these discussions.
