Gorakhpur's Yogi hails Modi tax slash as festival jackpot

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath praised new GST reforms during his Monday visit to Gorakhpur. The Chief Minister met local merchants and conducted a public grievance session before addressing reporters about the tax changes. He connected the reforms to Shardiya Navratri celebrations and described them as a festive gift from Prime Minister Modi. Adityanath emphasized how the modifications will strengthen investor confidence and enhance celebration spirits among citizens. The announcement coincided with Goddess Durga worship rituals beginning across the nation.

Tax rates dropped significantly under the reformed system for multiple sectors. Consumer goods previously taxed at eighteen and twelve percent rates will face five percent or zero percent charges. Agricultural producers and educational materials receive similar reductions to support farmers and students respectively. Medical supplies also gained substantial rate decreases under the new structure. The Chief Minister launched a statewide awareness campaign featuring merchants and consumers to promote understanding of these beneficial changes.
