Harare woman granted protection after witchcraft row

A woman from Harare went to court for help against her brother-in-law, who kept calling her a witch. Precious Kadzotsa told judges that Gibson Mangwende blames her for family deaths. She said he tells everyone she casts evil spells that make the family suffer. Precious strongly denies these claims about witchcraft. She believes only her husband has the right to ask her to leave their home.

Precious describes how Gibson attacks her when he drinks alcohol. He throws her things outside the house. She feels scared because he comes into her room uninvited. Gibson has even threatened to kill her if she stays. She made it clear she was not his wife. Gibson defended himself, saying Precious causes problems in the house. He claimed she insults his family members.

The court listened to both sides of the story. After hearing all the evidence, the magistrate decided that Precious needed protection. They gave her a court order to keep Gibson away from her. This legal document stops him from continuing his abusive behavior. The protection order helps make sure Precious can feel safe at home.
