Isak's contract request threatens Newcastle's pay scale

Alexander Isak demands Newcastle United raise his weekly wages to £300,000 according to journalist Alex Crook. The Swedish striker currently receives £120,000 per week while Newcastle's top earner gets £160,000 weekly. His proposed salary nearly doubles the highest compensation at St James' Park.

Newcastle executives express reluctance about meeting Isak's financial demands. The club fears disrupting their established wage system could create problems with other players. Management worries the precedent might complicate future contract discussions across the squad.

Isak's current deal expires during summer 2028, giving both sides time for negotiations. Liverpool and Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal pursued the striker during recent transfer discussions. His departure requests stem from ambitions that exceed Newcastle's current salary framework limitations.
