Jasikan MCE vows to improve road network, build university

Jasikan Municipal Chief Executive Parke-Davis Magyigbe announced plans to repair deteriorating roadways throughout the municipality under President John Dramani Mahama's Big Push infrastructure program. The government official acknowledged significant pavement damage and drainage deficiencies while confirming that feasibility assessments and Ghana Highway Authority evaluations have been completed for multiple routes, including Jasikan-Bodada-Baika-Lolobi, Jasikan-Worawora, Jasikan-Okagyakrom-Kwamekrom, and Jasikan-Atonkor-Akaa-Abotoase connections. Annual construction will reach ten kilometers within municipal boundaries.

The assembly is implementing temporary improvements using District Road Improvement Project equipment while awaiting central government resources. Magyigbe also confirmed that documentation for establishing a public university in the Oti Region commercial center has been finalized, with Ministry of Education representatives and contractors having inspected the proposed location. The municipality gained its current administrative status in May 2021 after operating as a district since 1989.
