Junior Queens depart Lilongwe for Gibraltar World Youth Netball Cup

Malawi's Under-21 netball squad received farewell ceremonies in Lilongwe before traveling to Gibraltar for the 2025 World Youth Netball Cup. Mukuru Money Transfer Malawi organized the Friday event as the team's primary sponsor. The athletes will face formidable opponents such as South Africa, Fiji, Barbados, and Trinidad and Tobago when competition begins on Monday.

Mukuru contributes K56 million quarterly to support the Junior Queens through equipment and training resources. Telisha Jussab from Mukuru expressed confidence that the nation would support these young competitors. Shepherd Boma from the National Council of Sports emphasized the goal of achieving excellence rather than mere participation. Anastasia Kaphale from the Netball Association praised the team's preparation and motivation.

Head coach Noel Mussa highlighted the squad's rigorous training and strong team selection. The Junior Queens carry national pride as they represent Malawi on the international stage.
