Kisoro Police Arrest Five Family Members Over Armed Robberies

Police officers caught an entire family running robbery gangs across Kisoro District. The crime family lived together at Bupfupfu Village and carried out multiple armed attacks. Dad Twizerimana Lawrence led the criminal operation at age 57. His wife Mujawimana Njerica helped the gang steal money from local businesses. Three grown sons joined their parents during the violent crime spree.

Manirakiza Anthony got busted after security cameras filmed him stealing 23 million shillings from Mugomberero Trading Centre. His brothers Kwiringira Junior and Ndakundimana Brian also face serious robbery charges. Police found guns and bullets hidden at Shaaza Ground where the family stored their weapons. Officers arrested two other gang members before catching the family criminals.

The robbery crew worked with a dead Congolese man named Irankunda Desire who taught them criminal tricks. Angry villagers killed Desire after catching him stealing from local people during June. Twizerimana had taken care of Desire like his adopted son before the lynching happened. Police say the foreign criminal trained Manirakiza Anthony to become a dangerous robber.

District Commander Ben Niwamanya Kashumbusha confirmed all seven gang members face court trials. Deputy Commissioner Robert Tukamuhabwa praised officers for catching the crime family. The recovered gun connects to several old robbery cases from six years ago. Security officials promise more arrests will happen as investigations continue across the district.
