Leaked Radeon RX 9070 XT prototype spotted on forums

Someone recently leaked photos of an AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT prototype on Chinese forums. This early sample features three cooling fans plus a completely black exterior instead of the expected gray color scheme. The card remains sealed inside an antistatic bag with visible serial numbers proving it comes from actual production. AMD never planned to sell these reference models directly, but somehow, this particular unit escaped into public hands.

The seller wants 5000 RMB if you can pick it up locally or 5800 RMB with shipping included. That equals about $599 in US dollars. They offer a one-year warranty for the card but warn buyers must pay for any repairs after that period expires. The seller strictly forbids taking apart or damaging the card unless you want to void that warranty completely. These rules show how valuable this rare prototype remains.

AMD decided against selling reference designs themselves, letting their partner companies handle retail sales instead. Because of this decision, finding a reference model becomes much harder than locating custom versions from other manufacturers. The limited availability might make these original designs cost more than expected when compared to partner versions available through normal retail channels.

This leak gives tech enthusiasts an early glimpse at upcoming hardware before official announcements. The pictures confirm AMD continues developing high-performance graphics cards to compete in the premium market segment. Even though most customers will eventually buy partner-modified versions, seeing the original reference design helps everyone understand AMD's base vision for their next-generation products.
