Legends match still short, FLA chases last-minute cash

The Football Legends Association is still about K10 million short of what they need to pull off the Malawi-Zambia legends game, even though some companies have been throwing cash their way. Board member Victor Msowoya said they were shooting for K50 million to cover the match and everything around it, but they've only scraped together K40 million after getting K2 million from Zapamwamba Investments and over K4.5 million from AZJ.

AZJ Construction dropped K2.5 million upfront, and they're dangling another K2 million if Malawi actually wins the thing. They've also got performance bonuses lined up, like K200,000 for keeping a clean sheet and K200,000 per goal scored. Msowoya mentioned the FLA originally wanted over K70 million because they're trying to set up medical help and welfare programs for retired players, not just throw one exhibition match.
