A man died after a mob attacked him following the fatal stabbing of his girlfriend in Machakos County on Monday. Police Commander Nzioka Singi said the unidentified suspect killed Susan Nyaboke as she walked to her job at a microfinance company in Mwanyani village. Authorities found a machete and two knives near his body.
The attacker, believed to be a local college student, followed Nyaboke along the Machakos-Kitui Road before striking her neck with a blade. Witnesses said the pair had a child together. Residents beat the man to death at the scene before officers arrived.
Investigators recovered both bodies and transported them to Machakos Level 5 hospital mortuary. Officials will conduct autopsies to determine the exact causes of death. The suspect carried no identification documents when police examined his remains.
