Massive Power Cuts Scheduled Across Four Kenyan Counties

Kenya Power Announces Scheduled Power Outages in Four Counties.

Kenya Power will cut electricity in parts of four counties on Thursday. The company says this is for system maintenance.

The outages will last from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will affect areas in Nairobi, Narok, Isiolo, and Kwale counties.

In Nairobi, power will be out from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The affected areas include:
  • Sunton
  • Linet Academy
  • Clay City Police
  • Parts of Garage and Majimazuri
  • Aberdare
  • Mukinduri
On Naivasha Road, the interruption will impact:
  • Melchizedek Hospital
  • Corner Heights
  • Makena 47 Apartments
  • Sections of Riara Road and Close
  • Kingara Road and Close
  • Mbaazi Close and Avenue
  • Merlin Court
  • MAC Apartments
The outage will also affect parts of Gitanga Road, Jacaranda Avenue, and James Gichuru Road. EBRU TV Station and Rubis Petrol Station on James Gichuru will lose power.

Other Nairobi areas affected include Bamboo Lane, Dagoretti Corner, and Wanyee Road. Schools like Braeburn, Rusinga, and Kawangware Primary will also be impacted.

The power will be cut in Narok from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. This will affect Narok Town, Majengo, Fanaka, London, and Adams East.

Isiolo will see outages from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Merti Town and schools in the area.

The interruption will last from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Coast region. Affected areas include PVC Africa, Salima Gases, and several schools.

In Kwale, power will be out from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Carrefour, Swahili Beach, Kaskazi Beach, and Diani Shopping Centre.
