Matiang'i crowned Jubilee presidential bet

Kenya's Jubilee Party has appointed Fred Matiang'i as its presidential nominee and deputy party leader, following a National Executive Council meeting on Thursday at the party's headquarters in Nairobi. Party leader Uhuru Kenyatta chaired the session that also designated Matiang'i to represent Jubilee in the United Opposition Movement ahead of the next general election. The former interior minister accepted the nomination and promised to advance party principles across the country.

The council approved additional leadership changes to revitalize party operations. Kagwe Gichohi became the executive director, while Ekomwa James Lomenen and Samwel Arama took whip positions in the Senate and the National Assembly. Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni announced plans for mass membership registration to rebuild grassroots networks and restore public confidence in the party.
