Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive Vincent Antwi Agyei has urged stakeholders to strengthen support for adolescent development while encouraging young people to stay committed to their education. Speaking at the inaugural Adolescent Conference on Well-being and Ending Child Labour at Sunyani Technical University, he praised the Global Media Foundation and its partners for creating a platform where youth can voice concerns and propose solutions to challenges they face.
Antwi Agyei warned adolescents against negative peer influences, recalling how talented childhood friends derailed their futures through poor associations. He stressed that respecting teachers, parents, and mentors remains essential for success.
The assembly executive announced upcoming construction projects, which will feature classroom blocks at Yawhima African Faith basic school and Yameri, a kindergarten facility at Tanoano, a health center at Baakoniaba, and multiple water infrastructure developments across the municipality. Work begins next week, with partners invited to observe progress.
