Metroid Prime 4 set for 2025 launch, Switch 2 demo coming to Fan Expo Canada

Nintendo confirmed Metroid Prime 4 will arrive before year-end during recent announcements. The company plans public demonstrations at Fan Expo Canada from August 21 through 24 at Metro Toronto Convention Centre. Players can experience the title alongside other Nintendo Switch 2 games during the event. Development faced significant challenges after Nintendo transferred the project from Bandai Namco back to Retro Studios. This decision extended the timeline considerably since the original 2017 reveal.

Recent South Korean rating board submissions indicate the release schedule remains stable. Industry observers expect an official launch date announcement soon based on these regulatory filings. Early gameplay demonstrations featured an introductory sequence and initial boss encounter on planet Tenmaar. The demo showcased enhanced technical performance with 120fps capability on Nintendo hardware. Critics noted the game maintains traditional Metroid atmosphere while incorporating more dynamic combat sequences than previous entries.
