Minister Vows Big Support for Ghana Bauxite Jobs Boom

Western North Regional Minister Wilbert Petty Brentum visited Ghana Bauxite Company on Friday. He promised the mining firm a safe place to work at Awaso. The minister praised the business for helping Ghana make money. He wants all local governments to help the company grow bigger. His visit was part of meetings with different groups across the region.

Isaac Ofori-Poku controls most of the bauxite company since 2022. More than one thousand people work there and all are from Ghana. The minister said companies like this need government help to create more jobs. Local businesses should lead the country forward instead of waiting for foreign money. He thinks Ghanaian companies can change how the economy works.

The company plans to build a refinery at the same location. Alexander Gyedu runs daily operations and said the project will start soon. Officials are checking three thousand square meters of land for the new facility. The Land Commission will finish their report before July starts. Workers will start building the refinery within a few months after that approval.
