MNHRC strengthens regional human rights ties at SEANF meeting

Myanmar's human rights commission participated in the 22nd Southeast Asia National Human Rights Institutions Forum held in Jakarta, with Chairperson U Paw Lwin Sein leading a three-member delegation that addressed digital age challenges and corporate accountability standards. The chairperson spoke on technology firms' obligations under UN business and human rights frameworks during a regional conference examining data protection and artificial intelligence oversight.

Representatives from six nations examined strategic priorities spanning 2022 through 2026, with Commission Member Dr Than Myint outlining Myanmar's advocacy work and Director U Zay Yar Linn detailing commercial sector human rights initiatives. Malaysia assumed the forum's rotating leadership from Indonesia as the gathering concluded.
