Modi backs Trump plan as Israel woos India

Israel's ambassador to India thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday for supporting a United States peace initiative designed to end hostilities in Gaza. The ambassador noted that Arab and Muslim countries have endorsed the initiative, and he outlined requirements such as governance reforms, demilitarization, hostage releases and educational changes for Palestinian self-rule.
