Monster Hunter Rise Smashes 10M Sales Record

Capcom announced that Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak sold more than 10 million copies since launching three years ago. The game reached 5 million sales during 2023 before hitting the latest milestone. Game director Yoshitake Suzuki thanked players for supporting the expansion pack. The strong sales numbers surprised many people because Rise started only on Nintendo Switch. Capcom never planned for Rise to become as popular as Monster Hunter World.

Monster Hunter Wilds drives most of Capcom's current success this year. Wilds sold 10 million copies during its first month and broke company records. The game ranks as America's best seller during 2025. Capcom expects the Monster Hunter series to help the company achieve record profits. The success puts Capcom ahead of previous yearly earnings.

Capcom plans to release more games from popular series soon. Resident Evil 9 might appear during Sony's State of Play event. The new game could launch before 2025 ends. Both Monster Hunter and Resident Evil could make this Capcom's most profitable year ever. The company shows no signs of reducing game development.
