Netrakona teen grabs gold in Malaysia as world blinks

A ninth-grade student from Netrakona Collectorate School earned Bangladesh a gold medal at the World Innovation Competition and Exhibition and International Science Festival 2025. Masia Rahman competed at SEGi University in Malaysia as part of team Phantom Forge during the September 21-24 event. The Indonesian Young Scientist Association organized the competition featuring 434 teams from 11 countries. Masia also received the MYSSO Award for her work in information technology and robotics.

Bangladesh achieved remarkable success through Dreams of Bangladesh, which sent 17 teams containing approximately 70 students to the international competition. Fourteen Bangladeshi teams returned home with gold medals from the prestigious event. Masia serves as women affairs secretary for Bashundhara Shuvosangho's Netrakona district branch. She credits her achievement to collaborative teamwork and expressed commitment to future innovative contributions for her country.
