Nivin Pauly's Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai will hit theaters

A rat and an elephant somehow became cinema’s weirdest release-announcement squad. Ram’s Tamil feature Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai finally has its theatrical arrival locked for later this year. Nivin Pauly leads alongside Soori and Anjali, with producer Suresh Kamatchi sharing the teaser online.

Aboard a train, Pauly’s immortal character gives a biscuit to a mother rat. Soori plays a decent guy who grumbles because those Dubai-bought treats were meant for his child. He initially blocks the animal’s path, then shifts after Pauly silently nudges him.

Another scene drops Pauly and Anjali into clothing from a long-ago civilization, where an elephant acknowledges them before heading through the forest. Ram’s narration frames animals and plants as living vessels tied to ancestral spirits.

Filming began around Dhanushkodi in Rameshwaram before the completed movie entered a lengthy release queue. Ekhambharam handled cinematography, while Yuvan Shankar Raja composed the music. An earlier motion poster pitched love as something capable of lifting the heart, body, and soul.
