Nvidia Readies Blackwell to Crush Huawei in China

NVIDIA plans fresh computer chips for Chinese buyers after US trade limits blocked earlier models. CEO Jensen Huang told reporters the company cannot change its Hopper chips anymore because of these rules. The tech firm will create new products based on different designs that meet legal standards.

These upcoming chips will use GDDR7 memory instead of HBM technology to stay under speed limits. The new NVIDIA products should work better than local options made by Huawei, thanks to better design features. Many Chinese businesses have started using their local Ascend chips because they fear future problems with NVIDIA access. Huang sees Chinese competition as serious but wants to keep selling products there.

NVIDIA must balance its Chinese business with new deals in Middle Eastern countries as trade rules become stricter. The company faces tough choices about where to focus its efforts next. These changes mark a major shift for the AI chip maker as global tech politics grow more complex.
