Oketch backs off Sifuna expulsion bid

Political beefs usually end with handshakes instead of fists because optics matter. Migori Senator Eddy Oketch cancelled his plan to kick ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna out of the party. He decided to use internal dispute resolution methods instead of forcing a public expulsion vote against the Nairobi lawmaker.

Oketch directed his lawyers to drop the complaint after chatting with party boss Oburu Oginga. They claimed the change honors the memory of Raila Odinga, who preferred talking over fighting. The legal team insisted Sifuna still acted poorly but agreed to settle things quietly.

The senator wants Oginga to mediate the conflict using specific party constitution clauses that favor reconciliation. This move stops a messy internal war from exploding while leadership tries to fix the friction between the two vocal politicians without firing anyone.
