Opiyo Wandayi says Kalonzo Musyoka will join Ruto and Odinga in BBG

Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi sparked controversy by predicting Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka would join President William Ruto's administration before the 2027 elections. Wandayi made these comments while launching rural electricity projects in Kitui South on Friday. The cabinet secretary praised the former vice president's leadership abilities and emphasized his potential government contributions. Wandayi also supported Raila Odinga's proposed talks between different generations to address national tensions. He criticized opponents of these discussions as saboteurs working against Kenya's interests.

Kalonzo immediately rejected Wandayi's statements and denied any plans for political cooperation with Ruto's party. The Wiper leader firmly stated his party would not merge with UDA and would continue grassroots opposition activities. Kalonzo dismissed calls for dialogue with the president and demanded constitutional justice instead. He argued that young Kenyans need employment opportunities and proper education funding rather than discussion sessions. These exchanges highlight Ruto's apparent efforts to attract opposition leaders while divisions emerge within rival political camps.
