Osun APC chieftain calls for focus on reforms, not 2027 election scheming

An opposition party leader from Osun State wants politicians to stop talking about future elections. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye spoke to reporters Sunday about early campaigning for 2027 races. He works with the All Progressives Congress and served as a lawmaker before. The party official thinks early political planning hurts the country during tough times. He believes President Bola Tinubu needs support rather than election pressure.

Oyintiloye said politicians should focus on current problems instead of future campaigns. Nigeria faces serious economic and security troubles that need attention right away. Many officials already plan campaigns for vice president and other jobs three years away. The former legislator called this behavior wrong and harmful to progress. He warned that political scheming could stop important government reforms.

The party leader praised Tinubu for taking on difficult economic challenges. Nigeria had major debt problems and weak currency when the president took office in 2023. The government also spent huge amounts of money on fuel subsidies that hurt the budget. Oyintiloye said Tinubu used his business knowledge to fix these issues step by step. The president removed fuel subsidies and changed how currency exchange works.

These policy changes have started helping the economy recover from past damage. Oyintiloye believes many Nigerians feel more hopeful about their future than before. He thinks the president deserves prayers and teamwork from other leaders. The party official wants politicians to work together on national security and building better roads and bridges.
