ACT-Wazalendo Chairman Othman Masoud Othman thanked Zanzibaris who supported his unsuccessful presidential bid, telling party members and residents during a tour of Pemba on November 11, 2025, that he cannot adequately repay their loyalty. The Zanzibar Electoral Commission declared CCM candidate Dr. Hussein Mwinyi the winner with 448,892 votes, representing 74.8 percent, while Othman secured 139,399 votes, or 23.22 percent, in the October 29 election.
