Parties near consensus on chief adviser rules, says Ali Riaz

Political parties achieved broad agreement on caretaker government formation procedures during recent commission discussions. Professor Dr Ali Riaz from the National Consensus Commission confirmed this progress after the fifteenth session of second-phase talks at Foreign Service Academy. The commission presented a revised proposal detailing chief adviser appointment methods to participating groups. Most parties endorsed the framework elements during detailed deliberations on the proposal structure. Commission members plan final reviews of language and specifics before Tuesday decisions.

The commission targets completion of the July Charter by month's end through continued political dialogue. Professor Riaz expressed confidence about finalizing the governmental framework within this timeline. Thirty political organizations attended the session spanning major parties like Bangladesh Nationalist Party and Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. Commission members acknowledged the human chain demonstration by July Uprising families outside the academy. The group has pursued consensus building since February through systematic party consultations.
