The cops in Zimbabwe caught a 38-year-old Tauya Maguwu. They think he broke into several houses and stole stuff in Bulawayo. This has been going on since the beginning of 2021, just a few days ago.
Maguwu might be connected to at least seven different break-ins. All the household things he supposedly took add up to about $3,500. The national police spokesperson, Paul Nyathi, said they arrested him and thanked people in the community for helping out. He wants everyone to keep their eyes peeled and let the police know if they see any shady business going down.
In December 2021, Maguwu apparently snuck into a house in Nketa and swiped a laptop, a couple of decoders, some laptop speakers, and a radio speaker. Then, on March 12th of this year, he's accused of busting into another place in Sizinda. That time, a Samsung home theater system, three blankets, and a big 50-inch Samsung TV went missing.
After they arrested Maguwu, the ZRP found some of the stolen goods. They recovered about $1,900 worth of stuff. But there are still many things unaccounted for. The police are working on tracking down the rest of the loot.
