Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 edges x86 but trails Apple M4 Max

Qualcomm's Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme processor trails Apple's M4 Max chip in benchmark testing despite significant advances over x86 competitors. The ARM-based processor scored 162 points in single-thread performance and 1,968 points in multi-thread performance using Cinebench 2024. Apple maintains a 9.5 percent advantage in single-thread tasks and 2.8 percent lead in multi-thread operations.

The Snapdragon X2 demonstrates substantial superiority against traditional x86 processors from AMD and Intel. Performance gains reach 34 percent over AMD's Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 in single-thread tests and 55 percent in multi-thread benchmarks. Against Intel's Core Ultra 9 288V, Qualcomm achieves 31 percent better single-thread results and 234 percent improvement in multi-thread performance. ARM architecture appears positioned to challenge x86 dominance in laptop computing.
