Rahul Gandhi threat stirs Congress, Anwar jabs Modi

Congress MP Tariq Anwar raised alarm on Monday after Printu Mahadev threatened opposition leader Rahul Gandhi. Mahadev formerly led the student organization ABVP at the state level. Party official K.C. Venugopal contacted Home Minister Amit Shah about the incident, and he warned that inaction would signal acceptance of attacks against Gandhi. Anwar said the politician requires stronger protection measures.

Anwar criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for claiming credit after India defeated Pakistan in the Asia Cup final on Sunday. The lawmaker praised cricket captain Suryakumar Yadav for contributing his tournament earnings to military forces, and he commended assistance for those affected by the Pahalgam attack. The trophy ceremony in Dubai faced delays when India refused acceptance from Pakistani official Mohsin Naqvi. Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha pledged his squad would donate their compensation to civilians impacted by Operation Sindoor.
