Bangladesh plans to construct its first government green building to house the Department of Environment headquarters. Environmental adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan announced the project will feature advanced eco-friendly systems such as solar panels and water collection technology. The structure will function as an Environmental Centre of Excellence for the capital city. Officials plan to utilize expertise from the textile industry, which has experience building environmentally sustainable facilities.
Hasan revealed plans for additional Environment Department offices in manufacturing areas like Gazipur during a development program review session. The government will supply adequate vehicles to support enforcement activities at these locations. She stressed that project delays damage public confidence and urged officials to work efficiently.
