Rockstar tests GTA VI for Nintendo Switch 2

Rockstar Games has conducted exploratory tests to determine whether Grand Theft Auto VI could run on the Nintendo Switch 2, according to credible industry sources. The leaker Nate the Hate clarified that such experimentation represents standard developer practice for evaluating platform viability rather than confirming active development for the console.

Technical challenges appear substantial given the game's reported ambitions. Both available trailers suggest the title will target 30 frames per second on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, indicating significant hardware demands from advanced simulation systems and ray tracing implementation. The Nintendo Switch 2 offers certain advantages, including greater available memory than the Xbox Series S and support for NVIDIA DLSS technology, which has enabled demanding titles like Cyberpunk 2077 to perform effectively on less powerful hardware.

A successful port would constitute a remarkable technical achievement, considering the apparent performance limitations on current-generation systems. The game's scheduled launch window extends into late next year.
