Rugby Team Loses Ronnie

Rugby players in Uganda feel very sad because they lost their friend Ronnie Kayondo. He played for a team called Kampani Eagles. Ronnie hurt himself during a big game at Kyadondo Rugby Club on February 8. The doctors tried to help him at Kampala Hospital, but he died the next day.

The leaders of Ugandan rugby wrote a special message about Ronnie. Mr Adam Kabalega from Kampani Eagles and Mr Godwin Kayangwe from the Uganda Rugby Union told everyone how much they would miss him. They said Ronnie was young and could have done many great things in rugby.

Rugby can be a dangerous sport because players run fast and tackle each other. Sometimes, people hurt themselves badly. This happened before in Uganda. In 2012, a lady from Kenya named Lillian Shikoyi died after she hurt her back during a game at the same place.

Many people loved watching Ronnie play rugby. He worked hard and made his team proud. His rugby friends want everyone to remember what a good player he was. They said they would tell people later about special ways to remember him.

The rugby teams asked everyone to pray for Ronnie's family because they felt very sad. They wanted Ronnie's family and friends to know that many people cared about them. They hope Ronnie will rest peacefully forever.
