Ruto and Museveni Embrace Luo Traditions in Siaya

President William Ruto and President Yoweri Museveni from Uganda attended a three-day cultural festival in Siaya, Kenya. The event was called the Piny Luo Cultural Festival.

At the festival, a special person named Ker Odungi Randa made Ruto and Museveni elders of the Luo people. This was a big honor. Raila Odinga, who used to be the Prime Minister of Kenya, was there too.

Museveni brought a special gift for the Luo elders. He gave them some old pictures from 1963. The pictures showed Jomo Kenyatta, Kenya's first president, meeting with other leaders. They were talking about making the countries of East Africa work together more. Museveni said he gave the same kind of pictures to Ruto and Raila.

Museveni also said that he and other leaders want Raila to be the boss of something called the African Union Commission. He thinks Raila would be good at getting people to work together.

Ruto agreed with this idea. He said that all the presidents in East Africa had a meeting and decided Raila was the best person for the job.

Raila was very happy that Ruto and Museveni came to the festival. He said it was a big honor for the Luo people to have them there.
