Ruto Blocks Wild Shoe Attack At Migori Rally

Someone threw a shoe at Kenya's President William Ruto during his speech about living costs. Ruto blocked it with his arm without injury. He kept talking about fertilizer prices as the shoe hit him, making dust fly up from the ground. The incident happened at a rally in western Kenya, where people remain upset despite his recent policy changes.

The president faces anger across Kenya. He canceled tax increases earlier, but many citizens still feel unhappy. He even added opposition members to his cabinet to calm tensions. Police arrested three people after the shoe attack, according to Interior Minister Kipchumba Murkomen. This comes as part of ongoing protests about daily expenses. A similar event happened to US President George Bush in 2008 when an Iraqi reporter threw shoes at him during a press event.
