Ruto Celebrates Trumps Two Sexes Directive

President William Ruto says Kenya and the US will keep strengthening their diplomatic ties under the administration of newly sworn-in President Donald Trump. Ruto noted that Trump's policies align with those of Kenya, further strengthening the bonds between the two nations.

Ruto welcomed Trump's decision to sign an Executive Order. The order directs the US Government to recognize only two biological sexes: male and female, as determined at conception. Ruto said this directive aligns with the core beliefs of the Kenyan faith and is also firmly rooted in Kenyan traditions.

"This policy supports what we believe in," Ruto said. "Boys must remain boys; men must remain men, girls must remain girls, and women must remain women."

Ruto spoke on Sunday during the Global Cathedral Sunday service in Nairobi. He also welcomed Trump's commitment to support the security mission in Haiti. Kenya has been honored to lead this mission.

"I am proud that President Trump and the new administration support Kenya's mission in Haiti," Ruto said. The mission aims to help the people of Haiti live in peace and stability.

Ruto said Kenya is in Haiti to play its security diplomacy role. This is in response to a request by the United States last year.

Ruto also said the country continues to show signs of economic stability and growth. Inflation and interest rates have declined. The exchange rate has stabilized.

As a result, Kenya received good news from Moody's, a global credit rating agency. Moody's has reviewed Kenya's financial outlook from negative to positive, demonstrating confidence in the country's future.

"There are already signs that God is taking our country places," Ruto said.

Moody's cited potential ease in liquidity risks and improving debt affordability over time as reasons for the positive rating. However, Moody's affirmed that the long-term issuer ratings still stand at CAA1.

It also observed elevated credit risks, which are driven by very weak debt affordability and high gross financing needs relative to funding options.

"There is potential for further reductions in domestic borrowing costs," Moody's said. This is given low inflation and a stable exchange rate.

Kenya has been struggling with heavy debt. It has been looking for new financing lines since last year due to nationwide protests against proposed tax increases.

Ruto was accompanied by Kajiado Governor Joseph Ole Lenku, Cabinet Secretaries Soipan Tuya and Rebecca Miano, and MPs.
