Scandal Audio Has Dame Facing Disbar Action

Daniel Kwame Ofosu-Appiah filed a complaint against former Attorney-General Godfred Yeboah Dame with the General Legal Council. He claims Dame broke professional rules during a criminal case involving Minority Leader Cassiel Ato Forson. Court records show Dame contacted Richard Jakpa privately about the ongoing trial. Audio recordings and text messages prove these secret conversations happened between the two men. Dame talked with Jakpa even though Jakpa had his lawyer representing him.

The petition says Dame violated several ethics rules for lawyers working on criminal cases. Professional conduct laws forbid attorneys from contacting people who already have legal representation. Dame's actions could have changed what Jakpa would say during court testimony. The former Attorney-General might have tried to influence how the trial would unfold. These secret meetings happened without telling other lawyers about the conversations.

Ofosu-Appiah wants the Legal Council to punish Dame for his behavior during the case. The complaint asks for serious penalties that could remove Dame from practicing law completely. Legal experts believe this case threatens public trust across Ghana's court system. Citizens need to feel confident that trials happen fairly without behind-the-scenes influence. The General Legal Council must investigate quickly to protect the justice system's reputation.
