The Selangor government is evaluating the potential costs and logistics for holding its international business summit overseas. Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari stated that this initiative aims to expand the state's international trade networks and strengthen its role as a gateway between Malaysia and the ASEAN region.
He identified several potential host countries, including Thailand, Singapore, and Indonesia, noting these markets are largely untapped. The summit, known as SIBS, encompasses several expos and conventions focused on investment and industry. The 2024 edition of the event generated a potential transaction value of 13.86 billion ringgit.
