Silent Hill f takes a trip to spooky 1960s Japan

Konami announced fresh details about SILENT HILL f, the newest chapter in their famous horror series. Players will travel back to Japan during the 1960s, where beauty meets fear in this scary new adventure. The game follows teenager Shimizu Hinako living in Ebisugaoka, a mountain town. Her normal life changes when thick fog covers everything, turning familiar places into empty, frightening areas. As everyone seems to disappear and dangers hide in the mist, Hinako must explore ghostly remains of her past, figure out complex puzzles, and fight scary monsters just to stay alive.

The story forces Hinako to make impossible choices between beauty and madness as she faces whatever lurks inside the fog. Famous writer Ryukishi07, creator of Higurashi When They Cry and Umineko When They Cry, developed the story. He brings his special mix of mind-bending horror and emotional storytelling to the game. Ryukishi07 describes feeling haunted by his first experience with SILENT HILL's suffocating atmosphere. He feels honored to work on a series that means a lot to him and claims he put everything into this story - even saying he wouldn't mind if it became the last thing he ever wrote.

Talented illustrator Kera joins the team as a monster designer, bringing fresh ideas inspired by SILENT HILL 2. Legendary composer Akira Yamaoka returns after 25 years with the series to create the music for the Fog World areas. His haunting melodies stay true to the psychological roots that fans expect. Composer Kensuke Inage handles music for the Otherworld sections, creating a clear sound difference between both realms. Kensuke has worked on more than 30 games and excels at mixing Japanese musical elements with modern styles.

Producer Motoi Okamoto leads the project after the successful SILENT HILL 2 remake. His team aims to refresh the series through its first Japanese setting ever. The game balances traditional SILENT HILL mind games with Japanese folklore and fear. Players will face uncomfortable themes and emotional horror reflecting Japanese culture from that period. You can add SILENT HILL f to your wishlist right away on PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, Steam, Microsoft Store, and Epic Games Store. Physical copies can be pre-ordered for PlayStation 5 and XBOX Series X|S from some European retailers, including limited edition SteelBooks as early pre-order bonuses.
