Simba Bhora face unbeaten FC Platinum as Zimbabwe league resumes

Zimbabwe's top soccer league resumes action Saturday with a major showdown between title holders Simba Bhora and FC Platinum. The match takes place at Mandava Stadium in Zvishavane. Simba Bhora leads the standings with 35 points after the first half of the season. MWOS sits just one point behind the champions. FC Platinum holds sixth place with 24 points from their impressive unbeaten run.

The hosts have recorded four victories and 12 draws without losing a single game. FC Platinum wants to break into the top four positions. A victory would also damage Simba Bhora's chances of repeating as champions. The teams have faced each other five times in league competition. FC Platinum has won three matches compared to one win for Simba Bhora.

Saturday brings several other important games across the country. TelOne faces Herentals at Ascot Stadium. ZPC Kariba battles Dynamos at Nyamhunga Stadium. Yadah meets Manica Diamonds at Heart Stadium. Bikita Minerals takes on Chicken Inn at Gibbo Stadium.

Sunday features another key contest between Highlanders and second place MWOS. That game happens at Barbourfields Stadium. CAPS United hosts Green Fuel at Rufaro Stadium. Triangle United plays against Scotland FC at Gibbo Stadium. The weekend matches mark the start of the second half of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season.
