Speaker Mudenda Hits China for Power Play

Zimbabwe Parliament Speaker Jacob Mudenda arrived in China for a five-day work trip. He plans to meet with Chinese officials to boost ties between the nations. His schedule includes visits to top tech and farm companies. He will tour several museums and a power plant during his stay. This marks his first China trip as Speaker.

The visit celebrates 45 years of friendship between Zimbabwe and China. Zhao Leji, leader of the National Congress Standing Committee, sent the invitation. Chinese Ambassador Zhou Ding said goodbye to Mudenda at Harare airport. Five Parliament members traveled with Mudenda for this important visit. Zimbabwe Ambassador Abigail Shoniwa greeted them upon arrival in Beijing.

China and Zimbabwe have maintained close ties since the fight for independence. Chinese support proved vital for freedom fighters back then. Their teamwork continues with projects like the new Parliament Building. Both countries want stronger ties through this official visit. The Zimbabwe-China Friendship Association helps build these important connections.
