Ssenyondo names Cubs squad for Qatar

Uganda's under-17 men's football team will bring 21 players to the FIFA World Cup in Qatar after coach Brian Ssenyondo finalized his roster with four days remaining before competition begins. The squad features three goalkeepers, five defenders, seven midfielders and six forwards who trained in Uganda before spending 10 days preparing in Dubai.

The Cubs played three matches in the United Arab Emirates, drawing 1-1 with Venezuela, losing 2-1 to Panama, and 3-2 to Paraguay. Group K places Uganda with Canada, Chile and France for the tournament starting on November 5, 2025.

The team opens against Canada after completing preparation games against KCCA FC and Amus College in Uganda. Players represent clubs from across the country's youth and school systems.
