St. Petersburg keeps building new subway stops. Igor Kreslavsky leads the construction committee and shared which stations will open this year. TV channel Saint Petersburg reported his comments. Four tunnel boring machines dig the underground paths. Two machines came from the Obukhov Plant.
Workers should finish Putilovskaya and Yugo-Zapadnaya stations this year. Kreslavsky promised the construction would wrap up despite timing issues. Opening dates depend on final inspections and other work. The Krasnoselsko-Kalininskaya line will add 18 new stations total. Three stations called Bronevaya, Zastavskaya and Karetnaya are under construction right away.
The final stop will be Ruchi station. City leaders also plan new stations for the Nevsko-Vasileostrovskaya line. Those stations will likely start opening around 2028 or 2029. St. Petersburg officials want to open 10 new stations before 2030 arrives.
